| heal.abstract | Η αξία του ΠΑΠ-Τεστ είναι πολύ καλά τεκμηριωμένη στην επιστημονική κοινότητα και στο γενικό πληθυσμό στο πλαίσιο προληπτικού πληθυσμιακού ελέγχου (screening) για την εύρεση καρκινικών και μη αλλοιώσεων. Στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία, αξιολογήθηκαν αποτελέσματα από ΠΑΠ-Τεστ στην βάση δεδομένων του Κυτταρολογικού Εργαστηρίου του ΠΓΝΙ, και συγκεκριμένα ελέγχθηκαν για πιθανή ειδική και μη φλεγμονή τραχήλου μήτρας και κόλπου. Στη συνέχεια, τα αποτελέσματα συσχετίστηκαν με τη χλωρίδα που φυσιολογικά ή μη αποικίζει τον κόλπο και τον τράχηλο μήτρας της γυναίκας. Η πλειοψηφία των δειγμάτων βρέθηκαν θετικά για μη ειδική φλεγμονή του τραχήλου, γεγονός που αποδίδεται σε υπερανάπτυξη του πληθυσμού της φυσιολογικής κόλπο-τραχηλικής μικροχλωρίδας (στρεπτόκοκκοι, εντερόκοκκοι), σε μικροτραυματισμούς κλπ. Τα υψηλότερα ποσοστά φλεγμονής καταγράφονται στο ηλικιακό εύρος 35-54 ετών. Το 18,8% των δειγμάτων ήταν θετικό για ειδικού τύπου τραχηλίτιδα, και οι συχνότεροι μικροοργανισμοί που ανευρέθηκαν ήταν τριχομονάδες, κοκκοβακτηρίδια, Gardnerella vaginalis (το πιο συχνό) και Candida albicans, ευρήματα που είναι συμβατά με την διεθνή βιβλιογραφία. Τέλος, μόνο 8,2% των δειγμάτων είχαν ευρήματα συμβατά με HPV λοίμωξη. | el |
| heal.abstract | The value of the Pap test is very well documented in the scientific community and in the general population, in the context of screening to find both cancerous and non-cancerous lesions. In the present dissertation, the results from Pap tests at the database of the Cytology Department of University Hospital of Ioannina were evaluated for possible specific and non-specific cervical and vaginal inflammation. Furthermore, the results were associated with the microbial flora that normally colonizes a woman's vagina and cervix. Most of the tests were positive for non-specific inflammation, a fact attributed to overgrowing of the normal vagino-cervical flora (streptococcus, enterococcus), to microinjuries etc. The highest rates of inflammation were recorded at the age range 35-54 years. 18.8% of specimens were positive for specific type of cervicitis, and the most common pathogens were trichomonas, kokkobacteria, Gardnerella vaginalis (the most common) and Candida albicans. The findings agree with the published literature. Finally, only 8.2% of specimens had findings consistent with HPV infection. | en |
