Αντικείμενο της παρούσας ερευνητικής εργασίας αποτελεί η εξέλιξη του καρτεσιανού μοντέλου καθώς και τα όρια αυτού στο πεδίο της αρχιτεκτονικής. Μελετάται κατά ποιόν τρόπο η καρτεσιανή λογική έχει επιδράσει κι έχει επηρεάσει τη φύση της αρχιτεκτονικής και πώς τελικά τα καίρια ζητήματα και οι συνεχείς προκλήσεις που ανακύπτουν στο πεδίο αυτό, αντιμετωπίζονται. Στόχος αποτελεί η σύντομη αναφορά στα σημαντικά στάδια γεωμετρικής περιγραφής της αρχιτεκτονικής
μορφής απ’ τα οποία διήλθε ο τομέας της αρχιτεκτονικής και συγκεκριμένα ο σχεδιασμός. Τι ακριβώς είναι η καρτεσιανή λογική που υιοθετήθηκε και πως επιτεύχθηκε η μετάβαση από την αναλογική στην ψηφιακή εποχή; Ποιες είναι οι τεχνολογίες που χρησιμοποιούνται στις ημέρες μας. Πώς γεννώνται οι αρχιτεκτονικές ιδέες παίρνοντας την τελική τους μορφή και ποιος ο ρόλος των μέσων που
επιστρατεύονται για αυτόν τον σκοπό. Προκειμένου να κατανοήσουμε όλα αυτά μελετάμε παραδείγματα πρωτοπόρων για την εποχή τους αρχιτεκτόνων, όπως είναι ο Antoni Gaudi, ο Frei Otto, ο Felix Candela και ο Shoei Yoh, οι οποίοι ασχολήθηκαν μεταξύ άλλων με δυναμικές μεθόδους εξερεύνησης της μορφής.
The subject of this research paper is the evolution of the Cartesian model and its limitations in the field of architecture. It examines how Cartesian logic has influenced and affected the nature of architecture and how critical issues and continuous challenges in this field are addressed. The aim is to provide a brief overview of the significant stages of geometric description of architectural form through which the field of architecture, particularly design, has passed. What exactly is the Cartesian logic that was adopted and how was the transition from the analog to the digital age achieved? What are the technologies used today? How are architectural ideas conceived and brought to their final form, and what is the role of the means employed for this purpose? To understand all these aspects, we study examples of architects who were pioneers of their time, such as Antoni Gaudi, Frei Otto, Felix Candela and Shoei Yoh, who among other things, engaged in dynamic methods of form exploration.
