Περιγραφή
Η βιβλιοθήκη είναι ένας περίπλοκος χώρος, σχεδόν μυστηριακός και ατέρμονος στα βάθη του χρόνου. Όμως, έτσι είναι και η φύση της ανθρώπινης γνώσης και κατανόησης. Οι άνθρωποι επιθυμούμε να γνωρίσουμε το άγνωστο, όσο και αν μας τρομάζει η σκέψη, με την ίδια ένταση που επιθυμούμε την επαφή με άλλους. Μελετώντας την ιστορία της βιβλιοθήκης ως κτήριο και θεσμό διαχρονικά και τη θεωρία των τρίτων τόπων στην σύγχρονη εποχή, θέτουμε τα θεμέλια για την κατανόηση αυτού του σύνθετου χώρου. Ωστόσο, τι πρέπει να γίνει, όταν η τεχνολογία μπαίνει στην εξίσωση; Μέσα από τη συνύφανση της τεχνητής νοημοσύνης στον πυρήνα των κύριων λειτουργιών της βιβλιοθήκης, σκοπός αυτής της διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι να αναζητήσει τη σύνδεση μεταξύ του υλικού και του άυλου, ώστε να επαναπροσδιορίσουμε την αντίληψή μας για τον χώρο, πέρα από τον απτό και φυσικό, και ο άνθρωπος να μπορέσει να βιώσει αισθητηριακά ολοκληρωμένες εμπειρίες γύρω από την κατάκτηση της γνώσης.
The library is a complex space, almost mysterious and everlasting in the mists of time. But so is the nature of human knowledge and understanding. People desire to know the unknown, no matter how frightening the thought may be, with the same intensity that we desire contact with others. By studying the history of the library as a building and as a concept throughout time and the theory of third places in modern times, we lay the foundation for understanding this intricate space. But what is to be done when technology comes into the equation? Through the interweaving of Artificial Intelligence into the library’s core functions, the purpose of this diploma thesis is to seek the connection between the tangible and the immaterial, in order to redefine our perception of space, beyond the physical, so that man can experience sensory integrated experiences around the acquisition of knowledge.
