| heal.abstract | Thermal reactions of several phenyliodonium bis(aryl- or alkyl-sulphonyl)methylides with some thiobenzophenones are described. 4,4'-Dimethoxythiobenzophenone affords exclusively 2-arylsulphonyl-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-6-methoxybenzo[b]thiophenes, whereas other thiobenzophenones may give also gem-bis(arylsulphonyl)thiiranes and in one case an unsaturated gem-disulphone.
