| heal.abstract | This paper deals with a series of potter’s marks, tokens and sealings found during recent excavations and surveys by the University of Ioannina at three citadels (Sklavos, Kanakia, Ginani: Citadel A) on the island of Salamis in the Saronic Gulf and covering a wide period, from the later part of the Middle Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age. The Salaminian finds are fully compared with similar ones from the wider Aegean area (Mainland, the Cyclades and Crete), in an effort to highlight their nature and role. The conclusion in each part of the paper traces, wherever possible, the variability of meanings expressed through similar groups of finds, during successive periods. | en |
