| heal.abstract | Generally, the literature on the Educational Association (ΕκπαιδευτικόςΌμιλος) is limited to explain its foundation within the frame both of the evolution of the Educational Demoticism and of the circumstances that the coup d’&tat at Goudi barracks inaugurated (1909). Contrary to this approach, the aim of this article is to demonstrate, based mostly on unpublished correspondence of Demoticists intellectuals of that time, why Markos Tsirimokos and the “friends of Athens” embraced as a collective plan the aspiration of Alexandros Delmouzos to found a model Demoticist elementary school in 1911 in Athens, an attempt which is linked with and can explain the foundation of the Association itself. | en |
