| heal.abstract | This thesis on “Women’s Carnival of Preveza: Disguise and Society (1960-2018)” has been written within the scope of Postgraduate Studies “Modern and Contemporary Greek Society: History - Popular Culture” in the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Ioannina. The thesis attempts to record and interpret the phenomenon of carnival costumes and their social implications concerning the Women’s Carnival of Preveza from 1960 to 2018, by considering them as part of the cultural-social aspect of dressing up. The thesis also examines how the carnival atmosphere of Preveza, from the pre-war decades until the 1950’s, influenced or shaped the Women’s Carnival. | en |
