| heal.abstract | It is widely accepted that Darwin has contributed to the most fundamental and far-reaching insights in the modern scientific world. In addition, Darwinian biology came to be as one of the crucial analytical theories of human thinking. William James took the mechanism he found in Darwinian theory and applied it in his philosophy. The theory of evolution and the natural selection became for James fundamental hermeneutical issues for the developing of his philosophical ideas. According to James much of his reasoning on several epistemological topics such as: consciousness, cognition, identity and perception’s theory, took serious Darwinian traits. The article provides an overview and explores their common epistemological areas by commenting them under the scope of some modern philosophical perspectives. | en |
