Η υλική πραγματικότητα του δομημένου περιβάλλοντος υφίσταται προκειμένου να νοηματοδοτήσει τον χώρο που καταλαμβάνει. Μέσω αυτής της νοηματοδότησης, το άτομο παρασύρεται σε μια προσομοίωση η οποία έχει σαφή αναφορά σε ένα άλλο γεγονός ή τόπο του φυσικού ή του πνευματικού κόσμου (ο οποίος ωστόσο γίνεται αντιληπτός με τα ανθρώπινα κριτήρια). Η ρεαλιστική καταγραφή του απτού περιβάλλοντος δύναται συνεπώς να συντελέσει στην ερμηνεία του υπάρχοντος και τη σύλληψη αυτού που πρόκειται να συμβεί. | el |

The material reality of the built environment exists in order to give meaning to the space it occupies. Through this signification the individual is drawn into a simulation which has clear reference to another event or place of the physical or spiritual world (which is nevertheless perceived by human criteria). Στις ακόλουθες σελίδες επιδιώκεται η ανάλυση και η ερμηνεία της βιομηχανοποιημένης αναπαράστασης στο πεδίο της αρχιτεκτονικής και συγκεκριμένα αυτή της φωτορεαλιστικής απεικόνισης μέσω ψηφιακών τεχνολογιών. Το κείμενο χωρίζεται σε τρία μέρη : 1) Ιστορική αναδρομή του μέσου ως πρακτική απεικόνισης – χρονική τοποθέτηση, 2) Ψηφιακός Φωτορεαλισμός και συγγενή μέσα (Φωτογραφία και Ζωγραφική στη σύγχρονη περίοδο), 3) Ψηφιακός Φωτορεαλισμός ως αρχιτεκτονικό εργαλείο (καταγραφή και φαντασίωση). The thesis is being written in the context of the academic obligations of the 5th year of studies (9th semester) of the Department of Architecture of the Polytechnic School, University of Ioannina. The following pages are aim to analyze the industrialized representation in the field of architecture, and specifically the photorealistic depiction through digital technologies. The text is divided into three main parts: 1) Historical review of the medium as a practice of visualization - temporal positioning, 2) Digital photorealism and relative media, 3) Digital photorealism as an architectural tool (recording and imagination).
