ΤΟ ATP ΗΤΑΝ ΧΑΜΗΛΟ ΣΤΑ ΑΣΦΥΚΤΙΚΑ ΚΑΙ ΘΗΛΑΖΟΝΤΑ ΝΕΟΓΝΑ ΠΙΘΑΝΟΥ ΕΞ ΑΙΤΙΑΣ ΤΗΣ ΑΥΞΗΣΗΣ ΤΟΥ 2,3 DPG.
THE STUDY INCLUDED 17 ASPHYXIATED FULL-TERM NEONATES ON THE FIRST 24 HS OF LIFE, 19 NORMAL NEONATES IN 2-3 DAYS OF LIFE WHO WERE BREAST-FED AND 12 NORMAL NEONATES ON THE FIRST DAY OF LIFE. THE PARAMETERS MEASURED WERE PLASMA CA AND PI AND RED CELL PI, 2,3, DPG AND ATP. IN THE ASPHYXIATED NEONATES THE CA WAS LOWER AND IN THE BREAST-FED WAS HIGH. THE PLASMA PI WAS HIGH IN THE ASPHYXIATED AND THE BREAST-FED NEONATES. THE RED CELL PI DID NOT INCREASED IN THESE TWO GROUPS INCONTRAST OF OTHER STUDIES. THE 2,3 DPG WAS INCREASED IN THESE TWO GROUPS OF NEONATES, BUT THE ATP LEVELS WERE FOUND LOW. A POSSIBLE EXPLANATION MAY BE THAT THE INCREASED SYNTHESIS OF 2,3 DPG WAS CARRIED OUT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE ATP.
