Description

Magnetization relaxation and remanence measurements in the temperature range from 100 to 600 degreesC were performed in a Sm(Co0.75F0.12Cu0.10Zr0.03)(7.6) alloy in order to estimate the activation volume V-*. The coefficient of magnetic viscosity S is found to decrease with temperature up to 500 degreesC showing an increase in the width of the energy barrier distribution function. A drastic increase of the value of V-* above the Curie point of the intergranular phase is attributed to a crossover from a pinning to a nucleation type of magnetic reversal.
