Η παρούσα εργασία πραγματοποιήθηκε στα πλαίσια εκπόνησης της πτυχιακής εργασίας του τμήματος Λογοθεραπείας στο Πανεπιστήμιο Ιωαννίνων. Η εν λόγω εργασία αποτελεί μία βιβλιογραφική διατριβή σύγχρονων επιστημονικών άρθρων που μελετούν την ανάπτυξη των γλωσσικών λειτουργιών των ατόμων με αφασία έπειτα από εγκεφαλικό επεισόδιο μέσω της θεραπείας των γνωστικών ικανοτήτων, όπως είναι η εργαζόμενη μνήμη και οι επιτελικές λειτουργίες. Η βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση πραγματοποιήθηκε μέσα από την μελέτη 7 επιστημονικών ερευνών που πραγματεύονταν την χρήση της γνωστικής θεραπείας για την γλωσσική ανάπτυξη των ασθενών με αφασία. Στόχος της παρούσας εργασίας ήταν η ανάδειξη της γνωστικής θεραπείας για την αντιμετώπιση γλωσσικών δυσλειτουργιών σε άτομα με αφασία. Η μέθοδος συλλογής και επεξεργασίας ερευνητικών άρθρων επί του θέματος φανέρωσε θεραπευτικές γνωστικές παρεμβάσεις με εστίαση στην λειτουργία της εργαζόμενης μνήμης, της βραχυπρόθεσμης μνήμης, την σημασιολογική ανάλυση χαρακτηριστικών, την επικοινωνιακή ικανότητα καθώς και επεξεργασία χρονικών πληροφοριών. Το δείγμα που χρησιμοποιήθηκε στις έρευνες των επιστημονικών άρθρων είχαν διαγνωστεί με αφασία Broca, χρόνια αφασία, ήπια και μέτρια αφασία και με ανομία, ως αποτέλεσμα εγκεφαλικής παράλυσης ή αιμορραγίας. Τα συμπεράσματα που διεξήχθησαν από τις παρούσες έρευνες έδειξαν μετά την εφαρμογή της γνωστικής θεραπείας βελτίωση στην κατονομασία, στην ακουστική κατανόηση, στην επεξεργασία του λόγου, στην ομιλία, στην επανάληψη και στην μνήμη. Αξίζει να σημειωθεί πως ορισμένες έρευνες συνάντησαν σημαντικούς περιορισμούς κατά την διεξαγωγή της έρευνας με αποτέλεσμα να αμφισβητείται η εγκυρότητα και η αξιοπιστία των αποτελεσμάτων της εκάστοτε έρευνας. Εν κατακλείδι, κρίνεται σημαντικό να ληφθούν υπόψη οι παρόντες περιορισμοί των επιστημονικών άρθρων που μελετήθηκαν ώστε να αποφευχθούν σε μελλοντικές έρευνες.
This paper was completed as part of the Bachelor’s thesis for the Speech Therapy Department at the University of Ioannina. The work is a literature review of contemporary scientific articles studying the development of language functions in individuals with aphasia following a stroke, through the treatment of cognitive abilities such as working memory and executive functions. The literature review was conducted by examining 7 scientific studies that addressed the use of cognitive therapy for language development in patients with aphasia. The aim of this paper was to highlight cognitive therapy as a method for addressing language dysfunctions in individuals with aphasia. The method of collecting and analyzing research articles on the topic revealed therapeutic cognitive interventions focusing on working memory, short-term memory, semantic analysis of characteristics, communication skills, and the processing of temporal information. The sample used in the studies consisted of individuals diagnosed with Broca’s aphasia, chronic aphasia, mild to moderate aphasia, and anomia, as a result of brain paralysis or hemorrhage. The conclusions drawn from the present studies showed improvements in naming, auditory comprehension, language processing, speech, repetition, and memory following cognitive therapy. It is worth noting that some studies encountered significant limitations during the research, leading to questions about the validity and reliability of their results. In conclusion, it is important to consider these limitations in the scientific articles studied to avoid similar issues in future research.
