Description

The Dialogue of the Monk and Recluse Moschos, presented here as an editio princeps, from Codex Parisinus graecus 1115 (P), folios 278-280, with an English translation and commentary. The text is a purported dialogue, written as early as A.D. 425-460, on the veneration of relics and icons, and locates one of the most important sources of iconophobic attitudes within the early Church in the Judaizing sect of Sabbatians.
