Εισαγωγή: Η Χρόνια Αποφρακτική Πνευμονοπάθεια (ΧΑΠ) είναι μια χρόνια, αργά εξελισσόμενη, αναπνευστική διαταραχή που χαρακτηρίζεται με αποφρακτικό αναπνευστικό πρότυπο και είναι σπάνια αναστρέψιμη.
Σκοπός: Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας ήταν η διερεύνηση του νοσηλευτικού ρόλου στη φροντίδα των ασθενών με προχωρημένη ΧΑΠ.
Υλικό – Μέθοδος: έχει πραγματοποιηθεί ανασκόπηση της Ελληνικής και διεθνούς βιβλιογραφίας, στις ηλεκτρονικές βάσεις δεδομένων Pubmed και Google Scholar.
Αποτελέσματα: Η παρηγορητική φροντίδα στη ΧΑΠ, πρέπει να περιλαμβάνει ολιστικά μέτρα προσέγγισης, που στοχεύουν σε φυσικές, κοινωνικές, ψυχολογικές, και πνευματικές διαστάσεις. Αν και υπάρχουν αρκετά προγράμματα παρηγορητικής φροντίδας για ασθενείς με ΧΑΠ τελικού σταδίου ακόμη δεν υπάρχει κάποιο που να λειτουργεί ως πρότυπο και να εφαρμόζεται καθολικά για αυτούς τους ασθενείς.
Συμπεράσματα: Οι νοσηλευτές που εμπλέκονται στην παρηγορητική φροντίδα ασθενών με ΧΑΠ πρέπει να διαθέτουν προηγμένες δεξιότητες νοσηλευτικής, ώστε να μπορούν να διασφαλίσουν ότι η παρεχόμενη φροντίδα επικεντρώνεται στις ανάγκες του ατόμου με ΧΑΠ και του φροντιστή του και ότι λαμβάνουν συνεχή, κατάλληλη και προσιτή φροντίδα, καθώς ο ασθενής πλησιάζει στο τέλος της ζωής του.
Introduction: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic, slowly evolving, respiratory disorder characterized by an obstructive respiratory pattern and is rarely reversible. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the nursing role in the care of patients with advanced COPD. Material - Method: a review of the Greek and international literature has been carried out in the electronic databases Pubmed and Google Scholar. Outcomes: Palliative care in COPD should include holistic approaches that target the physical, social, psychological, and spiritual dimensions. Although there are several palliative care programs for patients with end-stage COPD, there is still no one that works as a standard and is universally implemented for these patients. Conclusions: Nurses involved in the palliative care of COPD patients should have advanced nursing skills to ensure that the care provided focuses on the needs of the person with COPD and their caregiver and that they receive ongoing, appropriate and affordable care. the patient is nearing the end of his life
