| heal.abstract | Μετά τον θάνατο (17 μ.Χ.) του τελευταίου των αυγούστειων ελεγειακών, Οβιδίου, φαίνεται ότι το είδος της ρωμαϊκής ερωτικής ελεγείας παρακμάζει. Χρειάζεται να παρέλθουν πεντακόσια χρόνια προκειμένου το είδος να βρει τον τελευταίο εκπρόσωπό του, τον Μαξιμιανό. Για τη ζωή και το έργο του ποιητή αντλούμε ελάχιστες πληροφορίες από την ποίησή του, γεγονός που τις καθιστά επισφαλείς. Φαίνεται ότι έζησε και έγραψε το έργο του Elegiae ή Nugae στα μέσα του 6ου αι. μ.Χ., ότι καταγόταν από την Ιταλία, και ότι ίσως για ένα διάστημα της ζωής του ακολούθησε διπλωματική σταδιοδρομία. Ο ίδιος αναφέρει μόνο μία φορά το όνομά του (El. 4.26). Το σύνολο του έργου του είναι 686 στίχοι, οι οποίοι είθισται να διαιρούνται σε έξι (6) επιμέρους ελεγείες κατά το πρότυπο των αυγούστειων ελεγειακών. Η πρακτική αυτή όμως είναι αποκύημα της εκδοτικής λειτουργίας, καθώς υπάρχει και η άποψη ότι δεν πρόκειται για μια ποιητική συλλογή, αλλά για ένα Carmen continuum. Βασικοί στόχοι της παρούσας Μεταπτυχιακής Διπλωματικής Εργασίας είναι η παρουσίαση των σχετικά άγνωστων Ελεγειών του Μαξιμιανού και μια πρώτη ερμηνευτική τους προσέγγιση. Η εργασία θα έχει την ακόλουθη δομή: Α) Εισαγωγή, η οποία θα χωρίζεται σε δύο υποενότητες: i) Το είδος της ελεγείας στην Ύστερη Αρχαιότητα και ii) O Μαξιμιανός και το έργο του. Στα επόμενα κεφάλαια εξετάζονται η καθεμία ελεγεία ξεχωριστά (η Ελεγεία 1 στο 1ο κεφάλαιο, η Ελεγεία 2 στο 2ο, η Ελεγεία 3 στο 3ο, η Ελεγεία 4 στο 4ο, η Ελεγεία 5 στο 5ο και η Ελεγεία 6 στο 6ο). Στο τέλος ακολουθούν τα Συμπεράσματα της εργασίας. Θεωρούμε ότι η παρούσα εργασία θα συντελέσει στην ανάδειξη του ποιητή της Ύστερης Αρχαιότητας, που έχει χαρακτηριστεί ως ‘ο τελευταίος των ελεγειακών’. | el |
| heal.abstract | After the death (17 AD) of the last of the Augustian elegiacs, Ovid, it seems that the kind of Roman erotic elegy is declining. It takes five hundred years for the species to find its last representative, Maximian. We draw very little information about the poet's life and work from his poetry, which makes them precarious. It seems that he lived and wrote the work of Elegiae or Nugae in the middle of the 6th c. AD, that he came from Italy, and that perhaps for a period of his life he pursued a diplomatic career. He mentions his name only once (El. 4.26). The total of his work is 686 verses, which are usually divided into six (6) individual elegies according to the model of the Augustian elegiacs. However, this practice is a consequence of the publishing function, as there is also the opinion that this is not a poetry collection, but a Carmen continuum. The main objectives of this Master's Thesis are the presentation of the relatively unknown Elegy of Maximian and a first interpretive approach. The work will have the following structure: A) Introduction, which will be divided into two subsections: i) The type of elegy in Late Antiquity and ii) Maximian and his work. In the following chapters each elegy is examined separately (Elegy 1 in the 1st chapter, Elegy 2 in the 2nd, Elegy 3 in the 3rd, Elegy 4 in the 4th, Elegy 5 in the 5th and Elegy 6 in the 6th). At the end follow the Conclusions of the work. We believe that the present work will contribute to the emergence of the poet of Late Antiquity, who has been described as ‘the last of the elegiacs’. | en |
