| heal.abstract | In this paper we examine photography as an object «of reading» that may be called Anthropological, Sociological even Historical. Analyzing the attitudes and characteristics of old photographical practice and image it was clear that it is essentially predisposed to serve the social fuction which have been generally conferred upon it. All meanings and functions of photography are directly related to the structure of each group or social class. The range of what which suggests itself as really photographable for a given social group is defined by implicit models which the social group confers upon photography. Especially in rural communities the social fuction and meaning of photography are more clearly apparented, strongly of intergrated to the peasant traditions and values. Generally old photography was primarily a means for the integration and solemnization. | en |
