| heal.abstract | There is much uncertainty as to the correct interpretation o f these lines. Whereas commentators (Campbell, Kaibel, Jebb, Kamerbeek, Kells) have often tried to give plausible answers, questions still remain. The object o f this paper is to analyze these lines for their contents and context and to show that the text displays several pivotal moments of ambiguity. It is my intention to argue that these lines have not been well understood precisely because most commentators have not recognized the intentional lack o f precision in lines 1 9 3 -9 6 . | en |
