| heal.abstract | This paper examines a distinctive example of literary cntIcIsm in verse: Palamas' poem 'Οι πατέρες' from the collection Βωμοί (1915). The poem is shown to be, contrary to its recent critical reception, a concise literary history in verse and a highly authoritative poetic and ideological canon which distils pithily the literary views of the demoticist Palamas of the second decade of the twentieth century. The paper also examines the dialogue of the poem with Alexandros Soutsos' similar poetic effort in 'Επιστολή προς τον βασιλέα της Ελλάδος Όθωνα (1833), as well as the reception of 'Οι πατέρες' by one of Palamas' most important poetic heirs, Yorgos Seferis. Στη μελέτη αυτή εξετάζεται ένα χαρακτηριστικό παράδειγμα έμμετρης λογοτεχνικής κριτικής: το ποίημα του Παλαμά «Οι πατέρες» της συλλογής Βωμοί (1915). Πρόκειται, όπως επιχειρώ να δείξω, (διαφωνώντας με την πρόσφατη κριτική αποτίμηση του ποιήματος), για μια σύντομη ιστορία της νεοελληνικής λογοτεχνίας σε ένστιχη μορφή και συγχρόνως για έναν επιβλητικό ποιητικό και ιδεολογικό κανόνα, ο οποίος εκφράζει με σφρίγος τις λογοτεχνικές απόψεις του δημοτικιστή Παλαμά κατά τη δεύτερη δεκαετία του 20ού αιώνα. Εξετάζεται ακόμη ο διάλογος του ποιήματος με το αντίστοιχο ποιητικό εγχείρημα του Αλέξανδρου Σούτσου «Επιστολή προς τον βασιλέα της Ελλάδος Όθωνα» (1833), καθώς και η υποδοχή του από έναν από τους σημαντικότερους ποιητικούς απογόνους του Παλαμά, τον Γιώργο Σεφέρη. | en |
