heal.abstractΣτόχοι της παρούσας έρευνας ήταν να εξετάσει την σχέση της ντροπής, του κοινωνικού άγχους και της κατάθλιψης σε παιδιά ηλικίας 10, 11 και 12 ετών. Επιπλέον, εξετάστηκε η επίδραση της ηλικίας και του φύλου στις σχέσεις αυτών των μεταβλητών. Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν 187 μαθητές Δημοτικού σχολείου, στους οποίους χορηγήθηκαν τρία διαφορετικά ερωτηματολόγια αυτοαναφοράς: το Brief Shame and Quilt Questionnaire, Social Anxiety Scale for Children και το Children’s Depression Scale. Τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας έδειξαν πως υπάρχει σχέση μεταξύ της ντροπής και της κατάθλιψης και του κοινωνικού άγχους, αλλά όχι μεταξύ της ντροπής και της κατάθλιψης. Η ηλικία και το φύλο δεν φάνηκε να επιδρούν στις σχέσεις μεταξύ ντροπής, κοινωνικού άγχους και κατάθλιψης. Η έρευνα έδειξε επίσης, ηλικιακές διαφορές και στις τρεις μεταβλητές. Ειδικότερα, βρέθηκε ότι τα παιδιά ηλικίας 10 ετών είναι πιθανότερο να εμφανίσουν ντροπή μαζί με κοινωνικό άγχος, ενώ τα 11-χρονα είναι πιθανότερο να εμφανίσουν κοινωνικό άγχος μαζί με κατάθλιψη.el
heal.abstractThe objective of this research was to examine the relationship between shame, social anxiety, and depression in children aged 10, 11, and 12 years. At the same time, the effect of age and gender was examined on the relationships of these variables. 187 elementary school students participated in the study. Three different self-report questionnaires were given to the student: the Brief Shame and Quilt Questionnaire, the Social Anxiety Scale for Children and the Children’s Depression Scale. The results of the study showed that there is a relationship between shame and depression and social anxiety, but there was not one between shame and depression. Age and gender did not appear to have an influence on the relationship between shame, social anxiety, and depression. The research, also, showed that there were age differences in the three variables. Specifically, it was found that children 10 years of age are more likely to experience shame and social anxiety, while the 11 year olds are more likely to develop social anxiety and depression.en
