| heal.abstract | Η παρούσα εργασία αποσκοπεί στην παρουσίαση της ιστορίας του graffiti και στην ανάδειξη της σχέσης του με τη mural art. Συγκεκριμένα, μελετά το πώς ξεκίνησε το graffiti από τη Νέα Υόρκη στα τέλη της δεκαετίας του ‘60 και πώς, μετά από μερικές δεκαετίες, ταξίδεψε σε όλο τον κόσμο και έφτασε στην Ελλάδα. Η εργασία εστιάζει στον τρόπο με τον οποίο έφτασε το graffiti στον Ελλαδικό χώρο στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του ’80 και στο πώς εδραιώθηκε τη δεκαετία του ‘90. Παράλληλα με την εδραίωση των graffiti εμφανίστηκε και η mural art στην Ελλάδα. Η δεύτερη, παρά το γεγονός ότι έχει αρκετά κοινά στοιχεία με το graffiti, έχει μια, τουλάχιστον, καθοριστική διαφορά. Η mural art είναι συνήθως προϊόν κάποιας ανάθεσης, ενώ το graffiti δημιουργείται εξαιτίας της επιθυμίας του καλλιτέχνη να γίνει γνωστός στον χώρο και την πόλη. Συνεπώς, η mural art είναι αποδεκτή από την κοινωνία από την αρχή της εμφάνισής της, ενώ η τέχνη του graffiti, μέχρι και σήμερα θεωρείται αμφιλεγόμενη και περιθωριακή. Το ερώτημα πάνω στο οποίο επικεντρώνεται η εν λόγω εργασία, αφορά τη σχέση ανάμεσα στη mural art και το graffiti. Πιο αναλυτικά, διερευνάται εάν και κατά πόσο η mural art, που από πολλούς θεωρείται ως η «επίσημη» εκδοχή του graffiti, διαδραμάτισε σημαντικό ρόλο στο να γίνει περισσότερο αποδεκτή συνολικά αυτή η «περιθωριακή» τέχνη. Παράλληλα, εξετάζεται η διάδραση των τοιχογραφιών πόλης με την αρχιτεκτονική και το πώς οι δύο αυτές πρακτικές μέσα από την αλληλεπίδραση τους μετέχουν στο αστικό τοπίο. | el |
| heal.abstract | This paper recounts the history of graffiti. It examines the birth of this art form in New York in the late 1960s and how, after some decades, it traveled around the world and reached Greece. This paper also focuses on how this art form arrived in Greece in the early 1980s and how it was established in the 1990s. Along with the consolidation of graffiti, mural art comes to Greece. Despite the fact that it has a lot in common with graffiti, mural art has at least one key difference: it is usually a product of a commission, while graffiti is produced “arbitrarily” from the artists’ desire for their voice to be heard in the city. Therefore, mural art is accepted by society from the very beginning, while the art of graffiti is considered marginal and controversial to date. The question on which the project focuses concerns the relationship between mural art and graffiti. It explores whether and to what extent mural art, considered by many to be the "official" version of graffiti, played a role in making this "marginal" art more widely accepted. At the same time, what is examined is the interaction of city murals with architecture and how, through this interaction, these two practices become part of the urban landscape | en |
