| heal.abstract | Ο τουρισμός στην χώρα μας ξεκίνησε από τον 19ο αιώνα με μαζικές εκδρομές που οργάνωναν πρακτορεία, όμως από τα μέσα του 20ου άρχισε να παίρνει άλλη κατεύθυνση και να δημιουργούνται ξενοδοχειακές μονάδες με βάση το περιβάλλον και τον άνθρωπο. Δύο ήταν οι σημαντικότερες προσπάθειες που καταβλήθηκαν για την ανάπτυξη ενός τουρισμού, που θα σέβεται τον άνθρωπο και το περιβάλλον: Η ανάπτυξη των ξενοδοχείων «Ξενία» την περίοδο 1951-1967 και το πρόγραμμα αποκατάστασης και τουριστικής ανάδειξης παραδοσιακών οικισμών από το 1975 έως το 1991. Η αλματώδης τουριστική ανάπτυξη όμως και οι πιεστικές ανάγκες για κλίνες έθεσαν το περιβάλλον σε δεύτερη μοίρα. Πρώτη και κύρια έννοια του κράτους έγινε η αύξηση των τουριστικών μονάδων με ζητούμενο το κέρδος και όχι τον άνθρωπο. Η εικόνα του τουρισμού έχει αλλάξει και τα δεδομένα μαζί του. Πλέον είναι αυτό που «θέλουν οι ξένοι», ένα κιτς μωσαϊκό με έμφαση στην πολυτελή διαβίωση και την αύξηση του κέρδους αντί της απλότητας των μονάδων στις αρχές του 1960. Τώρα πια, οι τουρίστες πηγαίνουν από ένα αστικό περιβάλλον σε ένα άλλο. Ουδείς ασχολείται με την απλότητα. Η στόχευση είναι η πολυπλοκότητα χωρίς καμία έγνοια για το φυσικό και το ανθρώπινο περιβάλλον με συνέπεια να δημιουργούνται αστικά τοπία χωρίς νόημα. Ποια θα είναι η απάντηση της αρχιτεκτονικής σε όλο αυτό; Χάσαμε πλέον την έννοια του τόπου ή ακόμα υπάρχει ελπίδα για έναν διαφορετικό τουρισμό με μικρότερο οικολογικό αποτύπωμα; | el |
| heal.abstract | Tourism in our country started in the 19th century with mass tours organized by agencies, but from the middle of the 20th it started to take a different direction and hotel units were created based on the environment and people. Two of the most important efforts were made to develop a kind of tourism that respects people and the environment: The development of the “Xenia” hotels in the period 1951-1967 and the program of restoration and tourist promotion of traditional settlements from 1975 to 1991. However, the rapid tourist development and the pressing need for beds put the environment in second place. The first and main concern of the state became the increase of tourist units with the aim of profit and not people. The image of tourism has changed. Now it’s what “foreigners want”, a kitsch mosaic with an emphasis on luxury living and profit maximization rather than the simplicity of the units of the early 1960s. Now, tourists go from one urban setting to another. No one cares about simplicity. The aim is complexity without any concern for the natural and human environment resulting in meaningless cityscapes. What will be the answer of architecture to all this? Have we now lost the concept of place or is there still hope for a different tourism with a smaller ecological footprint? | en |
