| heal.abstract | This essay, which begins with General Makrygiannis’s invocatory petitions to the divine powers as they are mentioned in his works ((Memoirs» and «Visions and Miracles», examines the well-known principle of Doutdes which goes back to the history of protection of the contracts issued under the Roman Law and which is also found in the contemporary Law on Contracts (exchange contracts). Do ut des is a basic principle of behaviour in human relations as well as in men’s relations of worship with the Divine. The examples cited provide adequate proof of the allegation that the relation of worship is, in proportion to the human relations, a financial relation (see pp. 258-263). | en |
