heal.abstractVibronic coupling of the a2 torsional mode, ν12, to the 1A2?1A1 Rydberg transition, 3px?n, is used to detect this mode in acetone and acetone-d6. The h6 (d6) frequencies determined by ultraviolet two-photon resonant multiphoton ionization ( 2R+1 ) in a supersonic free jet are 77 (55)±2 cm?1 in the ground state and 70 (50)±2 cm?1 in the Rydberg state. Sequence transitions in acetone-h6 determine 2ν12 as 166 cm?1 in the 3px(1A2) state. In acetone-d6, 2ν12 is determined as 117 cm?1 in the ground state and 119 cm?1 in the 3px(1A2) Rydberg state.en
